Good evening Greenwood families! Let's take a look at the short week ahead at GES! School is closed tomorrow for Spring Break. Chesapeake Dental is visiting GES on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Wednesday is School Spirit Day so students can rock their GES shirts with pride. Second grade heads to Port Discovery on Thursday. They will leave at 9:00 and return at 5:00. Mr. Davis' class heads to Teackle Mansion on Friday and Q3 report cards go home. Thank you all and enjoy the rest of your break!

Reminder: Today, 4/6/23 is an early dismissal day, then SCPS schools and offices will close for Spring Break on Friday 4/7 and Monday 4/10. We hope everyone has a restful break and we look forward to welcoming back students and staff on Tuesday 4/11.

Good evening Greenwood families! Let's take a look at the week ahead at GES! Mrs. Johnson's class will head to the Board of Education for Sensory Easter Bunny on Tuesday. Wednesday is School Spirit Day and the 5th grade GT group will head to SCTHS to compete against DIS and WES. Let's go Eagles! Wednesday is also the end of quarter 3. Be sure your child has all of his/her missing work turned in. Since it is a short week, we will have Snack Cart on Wednesday. Students have an early dismissal on Thursday at 12:30. School is closed on Friday, April 7th and Monday, April 10th for Spring Break. Thank you all and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Community Food and Resource Drive!


The March Madness PBIS Behavior Incentive is underway!! Huge thanks to the students from Washington High school that came today to help out with this incentive along with our amazing staff here at GES.

We were thrilled to celebrate our incredible 2023 Teacher of the Year Ms. Moore! She was even cheered on by her students as the Limo picked her up for her TOY luncheon.

Today Mrs. Lobus's class designed hurricane proof houses using paper clips and tape as tools! The goal was to improve the house design to keep the roof from blowing away! Then they tested the designs using wind makers!

Mrs Miles class held March Madness in Science Class this week! Students were challenged to collaboratively use the Engineering Design Process to design a catapult that would successfully shoot a ping pong ball into the basketball hoop. Congratulations to our tournament champions, JoKorie and Xavier!



The third grade team celebrated learning about Maryland and Maryland
symbols by trying our state dessert, Smith Island Cake!
