Good afternoon, Princess Anne and Greenwood Elementary Families. We are reaching out to inform you of a community event occurring nearby that has drawn police presence. Due to proximity, both schools have been placed on lockdown by law enforcement. However, local law enforcement has deemed it safe to dismiss at the normal time.
There is no threat on campus of either school, and they are locked down as a precaution at this time. There will be no delay with dismissal. Thank you.

📚Read Across America Week Day 2
"So what we’re gonna do now is take it back….wayyyyy back!”
•Decades Day at GES•

Our Black History Wax Museum came to life today in third grade! After doing biographical research, students dressed up as their favorite person from history and presented an autobiography to all those who came through the “museum”.
So many smiles from parents and grandparents as our students shared their knowledge about astronauts, scientists, athletes, and the list goes on… So proud of these amazing students!

The GES Eagle Mascot LOVED reading everyone's shirts today for Read Across America Week!

Greenwood Elementary will not have after school tutoring on Thursday, March 2nd.

Good evening Greenwood families! We have another busy week around GES, so let's take a look! This week is Read Across America Week, a special week that we celebrate our love for reading. This week is a Spirit Week and students can dress casually as long as they are participating in the special dress. A flier went home last week, but here's a brief rundown. Monday is "Read a t-shirt" day, Tuesday is "Decades day," Wednesday is "Crazy socks day," Thursday is "Crazy hair or hat" day, and Friday is "Wear animal print or a shirt with an animal on it day." Please remember that students may not wear jeans with rips, holes, or tears in them. We are also excited to announce that the Book Fair is here! It will be open all week from 9:00-3:00. On Tuesday third grade is hosting a learning exhibition at 1:30. It will prove to be a great time so come on out! We have Parent Teacher Conferences from 4:00-6:00 on Thursday. There will be no after school tutoring on Thursday because of Parent Teacher Conferences. The Book Fair will open that evening too! What a great way to celebrate our love for reading! Finally, we will have Snack Cart on Friday and midterms will be coming home. Please help make sure your student has all missing work turned in. Thank you all for your continued support and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

📚Book Fair📚
All purchases through the Book Fair benefit our school. Thanks for supporting our kids! Happy reading!

Thank you to the fifth grade families that made it out to our grade level Snack N' Share event this week. It was so great to hear families share that they enjoyed learning upcoming skills and strategies from our teachers.

We are so excited to introduce you to...______!
Oh no, our mascot doesn't have a name yet!!!
Help us name our GES Eagle Mascot!

2nd and 3rd graders in Mrs. Brumley’s Art classes recently completed abstract paintings done with acrylic paint on canvas. Students used inflated balloons to “paint” their flowers and some students used sharpies to add details.
