This Wednesday, May 7th, we celebrate our School Nurse's as it is Nurse Appreciation Day! We have the amazing Mrs. Lisa Lawson, Mrs. Marshonia McClendon, and Ms. Tanisha Collins. They do a wonderful job taking care of our students and staff. They provide nurturing and care to all in need at Woodson Elementary. We are so glad to have the best of the best! 💙🌊

This morning, Somerset County Public Schools was honored to welcome Maryland State Superintendent Dr. Carey Wright and Maryland State Board of Education Member Mr. Chet Chesterfield to Crisfield!
Their visit began at Crisfield Academy & High School, where they met with school leadership and observed instruction in Ms. Justice’s Algebra class and Ms. Smith’s ELA III class. They then headed to Carter G. Woodson Elementary School to visit Mrs. Carey’s first grade classroom and observe math instruction in Ms. Kinder-Young’s third grade class.
We are grateful for the opportunity to showcase the incredible teaching and learning happening in our Crisfield schools. Thank you, Dr. Wright and Mr. Chesterfield, for your time, your insight, and your support of Maryland’s students!

Students planted tomatoes to take home as a culminating activity to making homemade spaghetti sauce. Staff purchased spaghetti dinners that will further fund activities for the cooking and gardening club!

Please remind anyone that visits during our awards ceremonies they must bring their license or government issue identification to be scanned into our Navigate360 system. Anyone not listed in PowerSchool or given permission by the custodial parent will not be permitted to attend the ceremonies. We look forward to celebrating our students.

Our students celebrated good behavior in the month of April with our PBIS laser light show incentive! This is one of our student's favorite events of the year! Shoutout to the guidance team for making this fun event happen for our students!







Mrs. Evans' Pre-K class planted seeds last week to celebrate Earth Day! Way to go, Pre-K!

Thursday the CHS band came to Woodson to practice with the 5th grade band members and to play songs for our Pep Rally. The pep rally was a way to get our 3rd-5th students excited about upcoming state testing. They were also able to play some Minute to Win It games as part of the fun.











Congrats to Jenna in 5th grade for completing LexiaCore5!! We are so very proud of you!


Tomorrow, April 24th is a paid casual day to benefit the music department. Students may dress causal for $1.00 and staff $2.00. Please keep the county dress code policy in mind when choosing your favorite outfit.


Happy Earth Day from Woodson! Shoutout to Miss Price and some 5th grade students who worked together to help clean up our school campus today! 🌎❤️



Mrs. Carey's class learned about moon phases using Oreo cookies. The kids were all engaged and even got to "eat the moon" 🌕 Way to go, first grade!
