Here is our new DIS vocabulary words of the week! In an effort to improve our vocabulary usage across all grade levels, we have created these vocabulary cards for our school and families to use at home and in the classroom. We encourage you each week to try to incorporate our DIS word(s) of the week into your conversations at home. This week's words are inspired by the Disney movie, "Lilo and Stitch". October 30th-November 3rd, we will be celebrating National Red Ribbon Week. This is a national campaign aimed at promoting a drug free, healthy lifestyle for students, families, and the community. As we strive to educate our students on the importance of healthy lifestyle choices, we also emphasize one’s responsibility to treat others with respect. During that week, our school will be hosting a school spirit week to promote our campaign. The schedule of events is as follows: Monday (10/30)- “My Future is Too Bright for Drugs." (Students can wear neon colored clothing and/or sunglasses) Tuesday (10/31)- “You Can’t See Me, I’m Drug Free” (Students can wear camouflage clothing. Because this is the end of the month, students may dress casual even if they choose not to wear camouflage) Wednesday (11/1)- “Drugs are WACKY! I’d Rather Dress Tacky." (Students are encouraged to dress in tacky, gaudy clothing) Thursday (11/2)- "You use, You Lose! Let’s stay on the Winning Team." (Wear your favorite team shirt) Friday 11/3- “Follow Your Dreams, Not Drugs." (Students may wear their PJs) *If students choose not to participate, they should come to school in their normal uniform. *If you have any questions or concerns related to the information in this letter, please contact Mrs. Horner at the school.Thank you.

Attention Parents and Guardians, We only have 41% of students that have their forms completely filled out online. New students to the school should also check the returning students tab to complete forms there as well.
Some impacts of not having forms completed:
- We do not have emergency medical information on record or consent to treatment in an emergency
- Families may not correctly receive phone, email, or physical mail correspondence
- Students may not be included in the yearbook or honor roll
- Families in need may miss out on opportunities for support
- Grant funding to our schools may be impacted by incomplete data
