**For students' first day of school, parents may escort their child to class, but starting Sept 2nd, parents will not be allowed in the building without an appointment for safety reasons.
THINGS TO KNOW!
📚 Drop-off is 8:35-9:00; after 9 the student is considered tardy, and students will need to be signed in.
📚 The drop-off line starts next to the Little Free Library and continues along the baseball field, then cars exit through the parking lot. Please be patient and keep space for the buses to get through. For student safety, parents need to utilize the car rider line and not the parking lot.
📚Dismissal begins at 3:45 and ends at 4:05.
📚If there are any changes to how students are being dismissed from school, please call the school before 3pm to let Ms. Kathy know.

NEXT WEEK! We have our PTO meeting at DIS at 5pm on Aug 25th, all are welcome. On Aug 27th, our Open House wiil take place from 2:30-6:00pm. PowerSchool is open and ready to have forms filled out and updated! Please make sure this is completed ASAP!!

Good evening! Monday through Thursday are early dismissal days at 12:30pm. Tomorrow's lunch is French Bread Pizza.
Water day for Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 is Tuesday! Students can wear their bathing suit right to school with clothes over top and easy shoes to slip on and off. If you can, put sunscreen on your child before sending them to school or send in a labeled bottle. Please make sure there is a pair of dry clothes to put on after and a towel. Thank you!
Reminder that we have yearbooks for sale for $10! You can purchase at the awards ceremonies today or next week until sold out! cash only.
Pre-K3, Pre-K4, K and 1st awards are Thursday at 2pm
5th if Friday at 9:30 am and 2nd-4th is Friday at 2pm.
Yearbooks will be for sale at our awards programs on Thursday & Friday or next week for $10. All 5th graders will receive a free copy! Food Bank will also be available for families to take food home for themselves, neighbors or friends!
The Coco's field trip is tomorrow. Please wear socks. We will be leaving at 9:15 to get to Coco's by 10:00 a.m.. we will be eating lunch there and getting back to Deal Island School by 1:00 p.m. Families are welcome to meet us there if they'd like, a sign out sheet will be available.
On Wednesday, A snack cart will go around at the end of the day. Items will be for sale for 50 cents.

🐐Petting Zoo will be at DIS on Monday afternoon! Please return the permission slip to participate.
🦁On Tuesday, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th will travel to the Baltimore Zoo. A FAQ will be posted separately, but please arrive by 7:30 am, we will return roughly around 5pm.
🐵PreK and K will be traveling to Cocos on Wednesday.
